WENCHOSTER CATHEDRAL SACRISTY
PERFECTION in HOLY IRONING
Inspired by the works of the Revd. Percy
Dearmer, and the antics of the new sport of Extreme
Ironing, the sacristans of Wenchoster
Cathedral have inaugurated the Perfection in Holy Ironing (PHI) group.
The aim of this informal fellowship is to
promote excellence, at all times and in all places, in the care and pressing of
the linens used in the celebration of the Holy Mysteries. To this end those
affiliated with the group practice their art in various situations around both
the cathedral and parish churches of the Diocese, so that they may be prepared
for any eventuality.
Affiliation with the group is open to anyone
who espouses its ideals, and photographic evidence of the practice of Perfect
Holy Ironing is welcomed. Photos for publication on this site may be submitted
in virtually any electronic format, to the group's Patron, the Dean of Wenchoster.
